Letter To Evola Music from Sharon Northrop.

Allen Organ Purchase from Evola Music Company
St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Maybee, MI
September 21, 2011

What a wonderful experience we had working with Evola Music and Mr. Lance Luce.  Things went so smoothly from start to finish.

Our church had an old Conn organ which we purchased in 1973 and served us well for 38 years.  But when we began having problems and the builders of Conn Organ had gone out of business, we needed a new organ.

We contacted Evola and met with Mr. Luce.  He immediately came to our church in Maybee, Michigan to find out our needs.  Without being “pushy” he was able to determine what was needed to supply a church the size of ours.

At this point we had NO funds to buy an organ and he volunteered to help us with a fund raising project.  Being the stubborn German Lutherans we are, we decided to try it alone.  In less than a month we had a secret pledge system in place and raised the $26,000 necessary to purchase our new Allen.

Through this process, Mr. Luce was very supportive and respectful of our pace of operations – which turned out to be rather quick to say the least.  When it came time to make the final purchase, he organized the process and the smooth move was in place.

We could not have asked for a more competent crew to deliver the new organ and remove our old Conn friend.  Even God cooperated by having the light morning showers come to an end long enough to make the delivery a dry one.

The men worked as a team making the balcony delivery look easy.  The speakers were also put in place in the front of the church (which required a bit of ladder climbing and installation in a small hot room.)  It was surprising to see Lance change from his white shirt and tie to a tee shirt as he climbed around and helped with the placement of the speakers.

In totality, the delivery was accomplished in under three hours.  How professional, clean, and polite the gentlemen were.  We were so impressed with the entire process.

Mr. Luce’s explanatory session with the organist a few days later was very educational and informative.  He went out of his way to explain, make subtle changes in the dynamics of the pre-sets, and offer suggestions.  He additionally offered to return to explain and go into more detail on the MIDI at a later time.

On behalf of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Maybee, I would like to extend our thanks to Evola’s and in particular Mr. Lance Luce for their work.  We look forward to many years of service from our new organ but we also know that Evola’s will be right by our side if we need additional support.  How thankful we are to all of you at Evola’s Music and especially to Lance Luce!

We now look forward to a dedication concert to offer our gift of this musical instrument to the glory of God.

            Sincerely,

            Sharon Northrop, Organist
